The world famous International Yoga Festival is a truly a historic celebration of yoga.. It was total Wellness and Oneness.
It was such a joy and a blessing to be in a holy bank of the Mother Ganga, to the lap of Himalayas and to the birth place of Yoga.  It is place where thousands of Yogis, Saints, Rishis have performed meditation, their yoga and attained enlightenment..
This year also lots of Saints, Yogis, Rishi Muni came from all over the world under the name of International Yoga Festival. Yoga Means Yuj, which means union. It was union of different countries, cultures, colors and union of different lineage of yoga and yoga styles.

The day I reached , It was already late and a divine aarti ceremony was about to conduct.  As a yellow bright light sun dips in to Ganga water, the reflection of rays and diyas brings tears in my eyes and the Bhajans, Yagna, Havan made my heart melts..  I still hear the sound of Aarti in me 🙂
The next day, I checked the schedule and woke up early to attend the classes. I was excited to see Deepika Mehta in the schedule event list as a presenter for Led Ashtanga Primary Series at Aarti Ghat. I came as early as possible to place my mat so that I can be in front to see her properly. It was amazing session and had a great time knowing and learning about her teaching style.
They say that this festival is like a buffet and you want to try each and every dish.. So I took other class which is not Deepika and not
Ashtanga..
In 4 days, I have tried Kundalini Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, Sufi Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga. It was amazing experience to have all the yoga styles and lineage in one tent.. Thousands of foreigners come from all over the world to experience this. The Ganga aarti in the night makes this event even more special.
There were lot of cultural performances from different parts of the world. I could see that their joys, Sorrows and attachments were flowing like the water in the Ganges.
There was a sweat lodge from Native Americans in which a purification ceremony to join prayer, sing a song, calling  your ancestors, and be in a sauna tent to purify was an amazing experience.. It was 4:30 am in the morning and then we all went to Ganga bath..
As a new yoga teacher, it’s amazing to listen and learn from so many great teachers and especially in such a divine location. Bollywood Yoga queen “Shilpa Shetty”also gave a presence to us and taught few yoga asanas..
These 4- 5 days for me passed so quickly that my soul and my heart is still over there. On my meditation and dancing sessions, I saw lot of tears in people’s eyes which makes me think about What is Life? How to be happy in Life.
Oh! Forgot to mention that this International Yoga Day falls in Maha Shivratri where whole night we did Rudra Abhishekam and chanting in front of divine lord Shiva.
